Now, welcome to the wonderful world of Zelda.
Narrator:
The legendary kingdom of Hyrule. Six years ago,
this land was at peace. But before that the leader
of a group of thieves, Ganondorf, obtained the Triforce,
became the Evil King Ganon and tried to conquer this land.
Ganon possessed the priest Agahnim and one by one
sacrificed the descendants of the Seven Sages which
broke the seal.
Because the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda, was a descendant
of the sages, she was locked in the castle’s dungeon by Agahnim.
But Zelda desperately spoke from the dungeon.
Zelda:
Please help me! My name is Zelda. I am imprisoned in the castle’s dungeon!
Narrator:
Link, a boy of Hyule, heard her voice and began an adventure
to rescue Zelda and defeat Ganon.
Many difficulties were awaiting Link, but he mustered his
courage, power, and wisdom, and was finally able to defeat
the Evil King Ganon.
And then Link left on a trip to find a new adventure.
The people of Hyrule extolled him for his accomplishment and
revered him as Link, the Hero. Since then, Hyrule has had
peaceful days.
Zelda:
Ah, there’s a light in the east…what is it?
Narrator:
Zelda headed towards the suspicious light.
A man named Agihna, the younger brother of
Hyrule’s Elder, Sahasrahla, was there.
Agihna:
Ahh, I’m getting older and woke up early this
morning. Let’s see...
Oh, what’s this?
Zelda:
Agihna, has something happened?
Agihna:
Princess Zelda, there is a suspicious youth here.
Zelda:
Aah! N-not dead, I hope...?
Narrator:
One day, a mysterious youth fell into Hyrule.
Soldier:
*gasp* *gasp* I-it’s terrible!
Agihna:
You’re the soldier who was at the Eastern Temple.
What happened?
Oh, you’re injured. Are you all right?
Soldier:
All of a sudden, a lot of monsters appeared and the
defending soldiers were annihilated. It looks like
they haven’t appeared around here yet, but... uh...
Agihna:
Ah! Hold in there.
Narrator:
At the same time, a lot of monsters suddenly appeared.
A new crisis had come to Hyrule.
The youth and Agihna acquired the Book of Mudora and had
Princess Zelda translate the writing on the stone tablets.
The stone tablets had, “There is a sealed power buried in
the mountain known as the Silver Arrows,” written on them.
But they still do not have all of the stone tablets.
Based on the word “mountain”, Agihna and the youth headed
to the foot of Death Mountain.
Priest:
So you have finally woken up.
Master Agihna is waiting for you.
Agihna:
Come, youth.
I will now return the things you had me take care of.
Zelda:
*Heavy Breathing* Huff, huff...
Agihna:
Oh, if it isn’t Princess Zelda.
It’s dangerous for you to leave Hyrule Castle.
So, what has you in such a hurry?
Zelda:
I had another dream last night.
It was of me reading the Book of Mudora
on the summit of Death Mountain.
It had to have been a prophetic dream.
It is my duty to read the Book of Mudora on Death Mountain.
Hero of Light, could you take me to the
summit of Death Mountain?
Agihna:
I cannot let you do that!
Let me go in your place...
Zelda:
No. Only I can read the Book of Mudora.
Agihna, you wait here until we return.
Agihna:
But...
Zelda:
Now! Let’s go!
Agihna:
Ah! Princess!
Ah, she is gone.
She told me to stay here, but... what should I do?
I’m of no use if I stay here...
Youth, I leave the princess...
I leave Princess Zelda to you!
I know. I can at least have the Fortune Teller
look at Princess Zelda’s future.
Narrator:
Let’s make sure you know how to play.

Hyrule, east of Kakariko Village.
If you do not have the Hookshot, go to the

Agihna:
Ahhh, I wonder if Princess Zelda is alright.
And has the Fortune Teller still not come?
Soldier:
He hasn’t shown up yet.
Agihna:
Really now, what is he doing.
Narrator:
Have you seen any tombstones?
If you push a tombstone it will move.
Try pushing them.
Level 7’s entrance is blocked by a tombstone
that won’t move even if you push it.
Dash into the tombstone that won’t move.
Now I will explain how to use items.
The torch can light the lanterns inside of dungeons.
There are some doors in dungeons that won’t open if
you don’t light the lanterns.
The boomerang can stop enemies from moving and get
items from a distance.
The bombs are extraordinary items that can damage
enemies and open holes in walls.
But if you get caught in the blast, you will take
damage, so be careful.
You can put many different things in empty bottles
and then use them later.
If you have a bow, you can shoot arrows.
The mushroom is an ingredient needed to make magic powder.
It is said that, if you sprinkle magic powder on an enemy,
it will have a surprising effect.
If you don’t know how to use any other items, press the
R Button at the Game Screen to check.
Agihna:
Has the Fortune Teller still not come!
Soldier:
I thought he was here, but...
Ah, here he is!
Agihna:
You’re late! The Princess might already be in danger.
Hurry up and divine something.
Fortune Teller:
Very well. Hocus Pocus.
I see a fairy.
Agihna:
A fairy, huh? Youth, did you hear that?
Use the fairy and protect Princess Zelda.
Soldier:
Master Agihna, Master Agihna.
Agihna:
You again?
Has something happened at the Magic Shop?
Soldier:
Yes, another golden potion has been made.
As usual, there’s only one for today.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, another gold potion has been made.
If you go to the Magic Shop, play the ocarina to
make your trip easier.
Don’t worry. The princess will grab onto the bird with you.
Narrator:
The Magic Shop in northeast Hyrule.
Magic potions are sold there.
The red gives physical strength. The green gives magic.
The blue is an extraordinary potion that fully heals both.
The gold potion not only fully heals both physical
strength and magic, but also accumulates power in your
sword for a short while after drinking it.
If you have never tried it before, you should do so.
The legendary sword, the Master Sword.
After Link the Hero used it in the previous fight,
it was sealed in the Lost Woods.
It is said that, with a single swing, it could cleave the
air and, with a single strike, it could defeat weak enemies.
But not everyone can wield it.
If you do not have a certain level of physical strength,
you cannot wield it.
Agihna:
Hey, Fortune Teller.
Have you seen anything?
Agihna:
Can you see anything?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
The youth can use an infinite number of bombs.
Agihna:
The power of bombs, you say?
Did you hear that, youth?
You can attack monsters with bombs and destroy walls.
But don’t get carried away and get caught in the blast.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
Have you seen something new?
Fortune Teller:
A mysterious power is gathering in the youth.
Agihna:
The mysterious power of Hyrule, you say?
Fortune Teller:
5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
The power has disappeared.
Agihna:
It looks like the power protecting the
youth is at work today, as well.
I leave Princess Zelda in your care.
Can you see anything else?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
I see a frozen eyeball deep in the labyrinth.
Agihna:
A frozen eyeball, you say?
Does it have a weak point?
Fortune Teller:
I don’t know, but it attacks using ice.
Agihna:
Did you hear that, youth?
It seems there is a frozen eyeball.
If it is frozen, it should be weak to fire.
Use strong fire attacks.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What is it? Is the princess all right?
Fortune Teller:
The power of bombs has disappeared.
Princess Zelda is with the youth.
Agihna:
I see. The power of bombs has disappeared, huh?
Did you hear that, youth?
You still have a long way to go. Keep at it.
Agihna:
What is it? Have you seen something?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
I see arrows.
The youth can use infinite arrows.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, did you year that?
Shoot arrows like crazy while you have the chance.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What is it?
Have you seen something?
Fortune Teller:
I see a fairy again.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, did you hear that?
Use the fairy to protect Princess Zelda.
Zelda:
Ah, journeying with you like this reminded me of something.
A while ago, I was sealed in the dungeons of Hyrule Castle
by Priest Agahnim.
I relied on one slim hope and continued to talk.
Link the Hero heard me and came to rescue me.
Link and I escaped the castle through a secret passage
and made it to the church.
The journey to the church was a dark and painful one, and I
will remember it for the rest of my life.
And now you, the Hero of Light, are here.
Even when things get tough, never give up.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What?
Fortune Teller:
The power of arrows has disappeared.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, you’ve used up half your time.
Hurry up.
Well, can you see anything?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
Oh, the boomerang has transformed.
It can now pierce through enemies.
Agihna:
Did you hear that, youth? Use the boomerang.
Use it to defeat enemies and to grab distant items.
Narrator:
I will explain how to play the game once again.
If you have a sword, you can attack.
Hold down the B Button to gather power in your sword.
Press the Start Button to bring up the Sub Screen.
To see today’s Objective Screen, press the L Button
on the Sub Screen.
To see the Item Description Screen, press the R Button
on the Game Screen.
To return to the original screen, press the Start Button again.
Press the X Button to see the map.
When in the overworld, it will bring up the Overworld Map.
When in a labyrinth, it will bring up that labyrinth’s map.
To return to the original screen from the Map Screen,
press the X Button again.
Soldier:
Master Agihna. Master Agihna... umm...
Agihna:
What is it? Why are you bothering me?
Soldier:
Oh... it’s nothing...
Agihna:
If it’s nothing, don’t call my name.
Soldier:
Ah, that was close.
Princess Zelda told me not to tell Master Agihna if
that suspicious looking person set up shop.
If I tell him, he’s sure to go there.
Agihna:
Did you say something?
Soldier:
No... not really...
Narrator:
There are many rooms in the labyrinth.
Check it out on the map.
Be extra suspicious of rooms with nothing in them.
Search every nook and cranny.
Don’t overlook walls you can destroy or statues
whose tongues you can pull.
To pull on something, stand next to the thing you want
to pull and use the control pad while pressing the A Button.
Agihna:
How about it? Can you see anything?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
I see a fairy for a third time.
Also, I see a monster with three heads.
Agihna:
A monster with three heads, you say?
What is its weak point?
Fortune Teller:
I do not know.
Agihna:
Did you year that, youth? It seems a fairy has appeared.
But there’s also a monster with three heads.
Zelda:
A monster with three heads...
It’s called Degurock.
It has one blue head and one red head.
And it has a third head that is its real head.
You need to defeat the blue and red heads first.
The Fire Rod works on the blue head and the
Ice Rod works on the red head.
Once they are gone, attack the different colored
section with spin attacks.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What is it this time?
Fortune Teller:
The mysterious power is gathering again.
5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
The power has disappeared.
Agihna:
It looks like Hyrule still has enough power to help the youth.
Youth, keep at it. Princess Zelda is depending on you.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What is it?
Fortune Teller:
The boomerang has gone back to normal.
Agihna:
I see. That will make things more difficult.
Youth, do your best.
Narrator:
You’ve made it to the depths of the labyrinth,
haven’t you?
There are a lot of tricks in the labyrinth.
Check every nook and cranny.
Have you missed a switch hidden on the floor or under a pot?
There are doors that won’t open until you step on a switch.
There are also switches that you must continue pressing.
Have you overlooked any walls that can be destroyed with bombs?
Grab things at a distance with the Boomerang.
There are also gaps you have to use the hookshot to cross over.
There are also obstacles that only the hammer can flatten.
Try out various items.
Fortune Teller:
Oh, this is...
Agihna:
What!? What!?
Fortune Teller:
The youth has infinite bombs, arrows, and magic.
Agihna:
I see. That is wonderful.
Youth, you only have 10 minutes left. Hurry up.
Agihna:
There’s no time left.
Can you see anything?
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
Oh, this is...
Agihna:
What?
Fortune Teller:
I see the Evil King.
Agihna:
The Evil King, you say?
Fortune Teller:
The legendary weapons, the Silver Arrows,
are needed to defeat him.
Agihna:
The Silver Arrows! Where are they?!
Fortune Teller:
On the summit of Death Mountain.
Zelda:
The Silver Arrows are what Link, the Hero, used
to seal the Evil King Ganon.
Could the Evil King Ganon have resurrected?
But how did he..?
Well, for now, let’s hurry to the summit of Death Mountain.
Agihna:
Ah, we’re running out of time.
Are you able to divine anything?!
Fortune Teller:
Hocus Pocus.
The youth will get rupees upon defeating monsters.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, you will gain rupees when you defeat monsters.
Only 6 minutes left.
Hurry.
Soldier:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
You’re the soldier from the northeast? What is it?
Soldier:
The Magic Shop is having another sale.
Agihna:
I see. Youth, only 5 minutes left.
Are you out of magic potion? If you need some,
use the ocarina to hurry to the Magic Shop.
Fortune Teller:
Master Agihna.
Agihna:
What is it?
Fortune Teller:
I see a fairy again.
Agihna:
I see. You can either touch a fairy or
catch it in your bug-catching net.
Youth, do you have anything left to do?
Only 1 minute left.
Is the princess all right?
Fortune Teller:
I’m sure she will make it back here to Hyrule Castle.
Agihna:
Oh, princess. I hope the youth has taken care of you.
Ah, Princess Zelda is back. Princeeess!
Zelda:
Sorry for making you worry.
Agihna:
I’m just glad you are okay.
First you need to get back to the castle.
Zelda:
No, we have no time. There is something I have to say
before the youth leaves our world and goes home.
On Death Mountain I felt... I felt Ganon’s presence.
I know the Evil King Ganon was sealed by Link, the Hero.
His body was sealed, but his malicious essence could
not be sealed.
It was through this evil energy's doing that the youth
was pulled into our world.
If the youth’s power had been taken by Ganon,
Hyrule would have fallen into deep darkness.
I truly thank you.
Because of your wisdom, courage, and power,
I am sure the future will be bright.
The time for us to part is fast approaching.
Agihna:
Farewell. You overcame many hardships, didn’t you?
Zelda:
Goodbyeeee..!
