Zuna
The Zuna tribe is a race living deep into the desert (deeper even than the Gerudo people). They
appear to be desert cousins of the Dekus, or in other words, cactuses people. It is not easy to
tell for certain though, because (due to their habitat) contact with them has always been scarce
and like the Gerudo they wear large light (but sleeveless) clothes, and veils over their faces,
as well as turbans.
The Zuna were among the oldest civilizations in Hyrule as they descend from the builders of the
desert pyramids that are more ancient than memory. Now however they are very few in number and
live in tents as nomads. They are extremely carefree and friendly with the few visitors they get
and can be hurt and offended if such kindness is not returned, but even so they won't cause any
incidents. They love to perform sand massages on their visitors, though they still ask for
payment, but even the kindest ones have to make a living. They also hang out in caves and still
know their way inside the pyramid which is considered a deadly place by all others. When a Zuna
is met in such places, he or she will usually share some advice with the fellow explorer.
Young Zuna are told all that is remembered about their past and the pyramids they built, but
because this seems to be a strictly oral tradition, much knowledge appears to be lost to them.
What we do know, is that inside their great pyramid resided an evil force, a trident supposedly
made by the Dark Tribe to designate and give power to their (future?) leader, the King of
Darkness. Whether this means that the ancient Zuna were affiliated to the Dark Tribe can't be
told, but the fact that they have descendants not trapped inside the mirror seems to imply the
contrary (besides, said descendants are such kind, naive people that it seems hardly conceivable).
Perhaps the pyramid was taken over by the Dark Tribe? Interestingly, even though the Zuna built
it, the pyramid is sacred ground to the Gerudo people, so this may mean the Zuna did not build
pyramids for themselves, but worked as architects and builders for others (and this may also
mean a certain Gerudo was part of the Dark Tribe...)
