The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Fantasy

In the wake of its tumultous past, the land of Hyrule finally thrived and prospered.

Then on a dreadful day an evil army of monsters attacked the kingdom, stealing the Triforce of Power, and it was led by none but Ganon the Evil King.

The world was plunged in an age of chaos.

Fearing Ganons wicked rule, the Princess Zelda of that time decided to split up the Triforce of Wisdom into eight fragments and hid them throughout the realm with her magic.

In a different world, a seemingly ordinary citizen of a modern city proceeded to step inside the tent of a new show recently arrived in town, a fortune teller.

The strange cloaked man said he had been waiting for his visitor, and with the promise of some unclear reward, prompted the latter to step into a strange skull shaped door on the brick wall to the side, and try collecting all of the Triforce.

Confused, the young one went in, and while hearing laughter of the Fortune Teller and Ganons minions who had been hiding behind a curtain, the deceived youth was immediately wrapped in bizarre light of all colors.

After a time, who knows how much, the frightened youth heard an equally frightened voice. It was princess Zelda telepathically pleading for the hero to rise and rescue her from the dungeon where she had been trapped and save Hyrule from the grave peril it faced.

Then, as suddenly as it came, the light was gone revealing to the youth an unknown landscape. A voice spoke through telepathy again, this time that of an old man. It hailed the young one as the Hero brought by the guiding star, awaited by the people of this world, and beckoned to step inside the nearby cave.

Inside the old man stood and went on to entrust the fate of Hyrule to the would be hero, explaining that the only way to defeat the Evil King Ganon who threatened it was collecting the whole Triforce.

Finally he gave the youth an enchanted sword capable of shooting rays of light and asked the hero to look for the first labyrinth of the evil king that was said to be not far, leaving him with a warning: the guiding star could keep the hero in this world only for a limited time.

The youth, moved by Zeldas plea and the fate of this unknown beautiful land, valiantly accepted the destiny of the hero and ventured through the small kingdom.

The whole region was invaded by monsters, but with the telepathic guidance of the old man, who assisted the hero with his book of forbidden magic and prophetic vision supposedly granted to him by the guiding star, as well as the aid of the fairies (who were forced to hide because of Ganon), the youth was able to find and conquer the labyrinths one by one, solving the riddles therein, defeating the monsters which Ganon had sent in search for the Triforce parts as well as its guardians.

During this journey the youth changed the old mans blade first with the White Sword and then with the mighty Magic Sword a weapon powerful enough to fight Ganon (but still not enough to kill him).

For three times, the power of the guiding star ran out and for three times the youth was returned home. But not lacking courage, the hero unfailingly waited until the guiding star could again open the way to Hyrule and finally, the last piece of the Triforce (as well as the Silver Arrows, Ganons weakness) was retrieved from Spectacle Rock.

But where was the Evil King? Where was Zelda? Suddenly as the world was enshrouded by Ganon's darkness, the plains overrun by his fierce Darknuts, the hero heard the old man urgently calling out. Quickly the young one returned to his cave only to find the old friend collapsed on the ground. Then the cave grew dark and Ganon appeared. Laughing, he took hold of the old man and left, creating an opening in the wall on the back.

The youth followed suit and found a stone door with a triangular mark engraved on it. The lair of the Evil King had been hidden in the very place where the guiding star had brought the hero. Had everything been planned by Ganon as a way to recover the Triforce that Zelda tried to hide away from him?

Determined to save the friends relying on their hero, the youth discarded such thoughts and used the Triforce to open the sealed door, marching on to duel against the evil one.

Ganon had mastered his Technique of Darkness and was now able to stay invisible even in an illuminated place, firing spheres of dark energy to his enemy. The hero however was still aided by the powers conjured by the old man, and eventually, upon striking Ganon with the Magic Sword a third time could deliver to the paralyzed foe the finishing blow using the Silver Arrow, reducing him to ashes in an instant.

From the remains of Ganon the youth took the Triforce of Power and headed to the next room where Princess Zelda was kept seemingly asleep behind a wall of blue flames. With the Magic Sword and the force from the two mythical triangles the barrier was quickly dispelled.

Princess Zelda opened her eyes and after thanking the hero for rescuing her, the two walked to the entrance of the cave where the old man, who had suffered no harm, and the princess bid their rescuer farewell before the magic keeping the youth in Hyrule died out, returning home the hero for good.

She also commanded her most trustworthy nursemaid, Impa, to go find a man with enough courage to destroy the evil Ganon.

Upon hearing this, Ganon grew angered, imprisoned the princess, and ordered his minions to capture Impa.

Impa fled for her life from her pursuers. As she reached the very limit of her energy she found herself surrounded by Ganons evil henchmen.

But all was not lost. A young boy appeared. He skilfully confused Ganons henchmen drawing them away from Impa.

His name was Link, he was a traveller that fortunately found himself in the right place just in time to save Impa.

She told him about Princess Zelda and the evil Ganon and burning with a strong sense of justice, Link resolved to save Zelda. But Ganon was a powerful opponent; he held the Triforce of Power and so, in order to fight him, Link had to bring the scattered eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom together to combine them into one again. If he couldnt do this, there would be no chance Link could fight his way into Death Mountain where Ganon dwelled. Link wrote some notes as Impa told him about the dungeons,

and then the young boy ventured through the small kingdom.

The whole place was invaded by monsters but luckily an old man gave him an enchanted sword capable of shooting rays of light to fight them off.

The young boy managed to find the various dungeons where the Triforce parts were hidden,

but to get those he had to solve riddles and defeat the monsters which Ganon had sent in search for the Triforce parts...

...as well as the guardians of the dungeons.

During his journey he changed his blade first with the White Sword and then with the mighty Magic Sword a weapon powerful enough to fight Ganon (but still not enough to kill him).

With the reunited Triforce of Wisdom Link went to Death Mountain and found Ganons lair inside Spectacle Rock. In the huge skull-shaped dungeon he found the silver arrows that Ganon hid hoping to prevent the menace they represented for him.

Link continued exploring the dungeon and finally he found Ganons chamber.

The young boy held the Triforce of Wisdom over his head bringing light in the room and without a word the two started to fight.

Ganon had mastered his Technique of Darkness and was now able to stay invisible even in an illuminated place, firing spheres of dark energy to his enemy. The fight was long: every three hits from Links sword Ganon was immobilized but no blade could kill him. Then suddenly Link remembered the words of an old man he had met who talked about "a secret power in the arrow" and after stunning Ganon again he shot him with a Silver Arrow, reducing him to ashes in an instant.

From the remains of Ganon he took the Triforce of Power and headed to the next room where he found Princess Zelda.

With the Magic Sword and the force from the two mythical triangles he was now carrying, the Hero of Hyrule cut through the flame barrier that was imprisoning her and together they reunited the two Triforce parts.
